NEET Counselling 2021 is likely to be held after the result declaration of NEET 2021. The results has been released on 1st November 2021 on the official website neet.nta.nic.in. The registration process for NEET counselling round 1 will start on the official website of NTA.

NEET 1st, 2nd & 3rd Counselling Procedure 2021

The NEET counselling session will be conducted in multiple rounds including the counseling sessions for All India Seats and State-Level selection for different medical colleges. As per NEET guidelines 15% seats are reserved for All India Quota (AIQ) and the remaining 85% seats are reserved for state medical institutes.

The counselling of NEET will be conducted online and the aspiring candidates are required to register themselves online on the official website of MCC. However, the counselling for the admission in State medical colleges will be conducted by State Government separately. The counselling sessions for both National-Level and State-Level admissions will be conducted on the basis of the All India Rank (AIR) obtained by the candidates in NEET 2021.

Eligibility Criteria for Participating in NEET 2021 Counselling

The students who satisfy the below given eligibility criteria can proceed for the participation in NEET counselling 2021:

  • The candidates who have successfully qualified the NEET exam.

Steps-by-Step Procedure of NEET 2021 Counseling

The step-by-step procedure of appearing in the counselling session is given below:

  • Step-1 – Registration

The candidates are required to register online on the official website of MCC for the NEET counselling 2021 – www.mcc.nic.in

After the successful registration and fee payment a computer-generated ID and password will be sent to the candidate’s registered e-mail ID & mobile number.

  • Step-2 – Choice Filling

The candidates are required to login using the credentials provided to the at the time of registration. Then, they have to fill in their choices of courses and colleges in the order of their preferences. After filling the choices, click on the ‘Save’ button. Without saving the choices, they would not be considered as locked choices.

  • Step-3 – Seat Allotment

On the basis of the AIR rank obtained by the candidate and the choices filled by him/her a seat allotment list is prepared, which is then updated on the official website of MCC.

  • Reporting at the Allotted College

After the allotment of the seat, the candidates are required to report at the allotted institute for the document verification and seat confirmation. In case the candidate fails to report at the college before the deadline, his/her candidature will be cancelled.

Common FAQs

Question: What is ‘Free Exit for 1st Round’?

Answer: If the candidate is unable to report to the allotted college or doesn’t want to accept the allotted seat, he/she may be allowed to participate in the following rounds of the counselling session.

Question: What is ‘Exit with Forfeiture in the 2nd Round’?

Answer: In case any candidate doesn’t want to accept the allotted seat in the 2ns round, he/she may opt for ‘Exit with Forfeiture’. In this case, the security amount deposited by the candidate will be forfeited.

Question: What are the documents required for the registration of counselling?

Answer: During the registration process the candidates are required to fill in the information available on their application form.

The original copy of the documents is needed to be produced at the time of reporting to the allotted institute.
